The situation:

Lebanon continues to be the country hosting the largest number of refugees per capita, since the civil war in Syria began. More than half of refugee children between the ages of three to 18 are still out of school due to a significant lack of space. Many of these children need to either work or care for their siblings while their parents go to work, making them more exposed to all kinds of abuse and deprived of their basic needs and rights.

Project description:

Located in Kesrouan, Lebanon, Clementia Life Centre (CLC) is a non-residential program serving 120 refugee students (ages 5-15) and their families. The desire is to empower disadvantaged families through relief, training, development, and protection. CLC provides education, training in life-skills, professional psychosocial support, nutritious meals, relief and aid to the families, and spiritual support by exposing children to the love and truth of Jesus.

Project goals:

  • Provide education opportunities for disadvantaged children who cannot attend a formal school. These children are from a wide variety of people-groups living in Lebanon (i.e. Syrian, Iraqi, Lebanese, etc.).
  • Provide a safe space for children and their families to heal from the past and have hope for their future.
  • Create a safe environment for children and their families to make a decision to become followers of Christ.
  • Build a new generation of believers and leaders from Syrian and Iraqi Arab Islamic backgrounds who can reach their communities in their home countries with the Gospel of Christ.
