Turkiye-Syria Earthquake relief

Turkiye-Syria Earthquake relief

RESOURCES:

The Emergency
In the early morning hours of February 6, 2023, two earthquakes rocked a 100-kilometre stretch of the fault line near the Türkiye-Syria border. The first quake measured a 7.8 magnitude and the second was 7.5. Because it was early morning, many residents were sleeping and weren't able to flee before their homes collapsed from the powerful quakes.

The Need
Many of those who survived the worst of the earthquake no longer have shelter since their homes are unsafe due to earthquake damage. Shelter, food, water, and winter weather needs are at the top of the list of immediate needs. Much of the infrastructure has been destroyed, so rebuilding will be a significant need in the near future.

Responding to the Need
FAIR is responding to this great need through the Türkiye-Syria Earthquake Relief emergency appeal. By partnering with Fellowship International missionaries and a like-minded organization* that already has personnel on the ground in Türkiye and Syria, we will be able to respond quickly to the needs as they develop. Funds raised will be used to purchase food, water, and winter weather supplies, as well as to begin the rebuilding and recovery process for those most affected by the earthquakes. This organization has the capacity to serve 5,000 families in Türkiye and 1,000 families in Syria. Efforts will be focused on empowering local churches to bring relief to marginalized communities that don't have easy access to resources.

Would you join us and help bring Christ's love through humanitarian relief to Türkiye and Syria today?

Suggested donations:

  • $55 for one food pack (sugar, tea, rice, groats, lentils, oil, cheese)
  • $8 for an additional pack of infant formula
  • $30 for one hygiene pack (hand soap, laundry soap, toothbrush/paste, shampoo for children, and a comb)

Please pray for effectiveness for FAIR's partner organization and Fellowship missionaries as they work with churches in this area of the world that can be hostile to the Gospel.
