Baptist Builder—Mabuhay Baptist, Winnipeg MB

Mabuhay Baptist Christian Church (MBCC) in Winnipeg, MB first opened its doors to worshippers in May 2005. What started with a few families meeting regularly to study God’s Word has grown into a vibrant, growing congregation with over 100 gathering on Sunday mornings for worship. In addition to the Sunday service, Sunday school, children’s ministry, weekly prayer meetings, Bible study groups, men and women’s ministries add to the programs offered to all age groups. Congregation members are also involved within the community.

For the past 18 years has been a beacon of hope in their community. The church’s initial demographic was expatriate Filipinos in Winnipeg, MB but has grown to include others including the growing Ukrainian population who have a passion and desire to gather in worship to the Lord. The church facilities are also used by a smaller Filipino group on Sunday afternoons.

MBCC continues to grow in the Lord and in numbers. Their earnest prayer and desire is to provide a convenient, safe, and healthy place for gathering. To this end, the church is needing to do some repair and renovation work in the basement which will enable ministry to continue. Some of the work to be done includes:

  • demolition of existing walls
  • replacement of carpets on stairs, vinyl plank insulation on floors
  • replacement of wall insulation and walls
  • installation of acoustic wall panels
  • replacement of windows and baseboards
  • painting
  • construction of storage and some work in the kitchen area

The estimated cost of the project is $30,000 to $40,000. MBCC is raising money internally, however, extra funding is needed in order to see the work through to completion.

Baptist Builder is privileged to join with Mabuhay Baptist Christian Church in this project. Would you prayerfully consider how you might assist this church as they seek to complete much needed repairs and renovation work in their building, providing a safer environment from which they can connect with those within their community?
