FAIR Year in Review

As I reflect on the year 2021 there are some quick thoughts that come to mind like “good riddance” or “glad to see you go”! But quite honestly there are many things to learn from the encouraging and challenging moments of 2021.

Encouragements:

The generosity of God’s people continued throughout an uncertain year. Our God is a God of abundance and has provided FAIR abundantly so that these resources might be used to alleviate suffering and injustice in our world.

Personally, we had the joy of welcoming a new granddaughter into our family – God creates and gives life. Even as God provided His Son at a dark period in history, little Lennon has brought us joy and laughter in dark times of the pandemic.

Relationships have become more precious to me. Developing, repairing, and building them is so important. The pandemic pushed me into periods of isolation that were uncomfortable and discouraging. It was a time to reconfirm that my relationship to Christ is the most important, but family, friends and co-workers have blessed me this year.

God continues his work in the world of caring for the poor, the orphaned and the widows. Stepping into His invitation to join in this work this past year has been rewarding for our FAIR team.

I am grateful for technology...Zoom meetings (in proper frequency) allowed me to accomplish much more than I could have realized.

In our Fellowship family a greater synergy between Fellowship International and FAIR has developed and we pray strategically for more humanitarian-focused workers in the days to come.

Challenges:

Adaptability and flexibility became issues at the forefront of my mind. Could we serve our missionaries and constituency well during this pandemic? I believe the answer is a resounding “yes!”  In the early part of the year I was stretched because of not being able to meet face to face and not traveling.

The deterioration of certain fields of service Haiti, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are challenges that, humanly speaking, we find it hard to provide answers but God knows and is aware and active in these situations. We need to pause and await His leading.

Annual Report:

On behalf of our FAIR team I wish you a very healthy and successful New Year!
