A Walking Miracle

Warning, some of this story contains details that some readers may find distressing.

In Madagascar, Fellowship International missionaries, Dr. Jesh and Julie Thiessen, along with FAIR are launching a new Christian surgical training program to help Malagasy people get out of the waiting room. Here is the story of one of their patients:

“Back in June, a young man was rushed to our hospital with severe burns. He had had a seizure, lost consciousness and fell into a fire in front of him burning his back and three quarters of his head and face. Everything burned down to bone over a significant portion of his skull. It is a horrific injury that is very challenging to treat here in an under-resourced rural hospital.

“Since then, he has had multiple surgeries and grafting. We had to drill holes every few centimeters over his entire skull to get new tissue to grow through the dead skull bone. This is so that new tissue can form so we can cover his head with skin grafts in the future. He has been in hospital for a long time and continues to recover. We’ve had many conversations and he has heard the Gospel. I told him he needs to figure out what God wants for him because he is somewhat of a walking miracle. He should have died weeks ago but is now at home coming to the hospital three days a week for dressing changes. He is not out of the woods yet but God continues to heal him.”

Please pray for this young man to fully recover from his burns and to also find his hope in Jesus, the Great Physician, and discover what God wants for him.
