Sharing What You Have

You can probably list at least a dozen ways in which COVID-19 has affected your life. For many Canadians, financial worries are likely to be near (if not at) the top of that list. When our financial security is challenged, it can be easy to feel defeated — like we have nothing to give. But this is far from the truth! Here are some examples of how God might be calling you to give.

  • Have extra time? Pray for those in ministry, leadership or front line professions. OR help your neighbour with a (physically-distanced) project.
  • Have a passion for baking? Make treats for family, coworkers, small group members, and neighbours.
  • Good with words? Write letters, texts or emails of encouragement to your friends and loved ones.

Giving doesn’t just mean writing a cheque or sending an e-transfer. We are worth so much more than our bank accounts. And when we give from our abundance, we are showing the love of Christ and partnering with God to build His Kingdom.

Fellowship International missionaries Karim and Rita Anayssi play essential roles at Cedar Home (Lebanon), one of four Fellowship Child Sponsorship ministries. Karim recently shared a story and some thoughts about sharing the resources they’ve been blessed with. We hope you will be encouraged and blessed, as we were by his message.
