The Logic Map—Good advice for husbands
Fathers and mothers are different. I guess that’s why we celebrate them on different Sundays. Moms buy a lot of protective gear. Dads buy Band-Aids. Moms say, “You worry me too much!” Dads say, “Hey, don’t worry too much!”
Jesus loved like a mother but taught like a father.
Husbands and wives are different, too. Look them up in the Oxford dictionary and you’ll find “monarch” and “motivate” before and after the word “motherhood”. But you’ll find “fathead” and “fatigue” before and after “fatherhood”. Hmmm… I wonder if the dictionary is trying to say something.
The Logic Map
In computer science, students learn of the Logic Map. There are “gates” where one input affects a second input. And so, if Gate A is “true” and Gate B is “true”, then the logical outcome is “true”:
|
Gate A |
Gate B |
Outcome |
|
True |
True |
True |
|
True |
False |

If we were to use the Logic Map in our marriages to help improve, nurture, and ensure that our marriages flourish, the “Marriage Logic Map” could help us understand better how to navigate happiness in our marriages
Let me share how the Marriage Logic Map works. If the husband is “right” and the wife is “right” then the logical outcome is the wife is “right”:
|
Husband Gate |
Wife Gate |
Outcome |
|
Right |
Right |
Wife is right |
|
Wrong |
Right |
Wife is right |
|
Right |
Wrong |
Wife is right |
|

Husband is wrong |

It’s a joke. It’s just a joke!
