Associate Director/FAIR Coordinator
Norman was born and raised in BC, son of a construction worker and farmer. His spiritual journey began from childhood having the privilege of Christian parents who loved the Lord and trained their children to do the same. At the age of twelve he accepted the Lord as Saviour and followed the Lord in baptism two years later.
Norman and his wife, Donna, were appointed, individually in 1975 and 1976 respectively, to service with FEBInternational (now Fellowship International) in Colombia, South America. They were later married in 1976 in Toronto where Donna had been studying at Central Baptist Seminary. Norman had received the call to Christian service during his studies at Millar College of the Bible and was serving in Latin America as a short term independent missionary at this time.
The initial assignment in Colombia was to a leadership training role in the Colombia Baptist Bible Institute operating in Medellin in the late 1970s. Norman was also responsible for the maintenance and development of the mission property where the Institute and Missionary Childrens School were located.
In May 1983 Norman became Field Coordinator for the Colombian field; a position he held until May 1994. Normans vision as coordinator was to see pastoral leadership developed and the church ministry administration nationalized through the development of a stronger National Church Association. Along with meeting this challenge and that of refocusing the reduced number of missionary personnel, after the 1989 evacuation, to a church planting priority, the Lord opened the door for Norman to join the home office staff in Guelph, Ontario in September of 1994.
Norman is presently Associate Director of Fellowship International and FAIR Coordinator. He is responsible for the financial administration and missionary personnel serving with Fellowship International around the world and also oversees the FAIR program.
