Moscow Feeding Project
According to figures published by the World Bank in 2004, 20% of the Russian population lives below the poverty line which is defined as a monthly income of 1,000 roubles ($39 Cdn.). Russia's National Statistics Office has classified 31 million people as poor. Other surveys, however, place the poverty rate at 40+%. Those impacted the most are between ages 18 and 54.
Because of the tremendous need, FAIR is committed to fully funding a feeding station which supplies a daily nutritious meal to 30 or more needy people. Parcels of food made up of items such as: cooking supplies, meat, and staples are also provided for needy families. You can help literally put food on the table through your contribution.
Cost: $24 for one day of food per person
Food Packages
As funds are received, food parcels are distributed to the homeless and unemployed. Parcels contain essentials such as flour, canned meat, cooking oil, etc. You can make “bringing home the groceries” a reality for needy families in Moscow.
Cost: $25 per food package
