The Centre of Hope in Almaty in Kazakhstan has made a significant impact in the lives of those who have received Christian counseling for the addictions gripping their lives, or for the abuse they've experienced. Through this unique ministry God is opening doors in other locations in Kazakhstan to provide the same level of Christian counseling in rehabilitation centres.

Centre of Hope: Zarechny

Centre of Hope personnel have been asked to provide ministry and training oversight to a new centre 80 km from Almaty in Zarechny. Your contribution can enable a staff member to be available for three days a week in Zarechny. (Submitted by: Peter and Cheryl Hambrey)

Centre of Hope: Training Others

The Centre of Hope receives many invitations from evangelical churches to help pastors address various situations within the church including: conflict resolution, domestic violence, addictions, and to provide lay counselor training. Each trip typically takes 10 days, involves two staff members and costs approximately $275. You can cover one or more of the four yearly trips. (Submitted by: Peter and Cheryl Hambrey)

Reading Material in Russian

There are few Christ-centered books available in Russian that deal with practical personal issues common to struggling believers. Centre of Hope has to translate much of the material they use. A manual, or short book of approximately 150-200 pages, takes about two months to translate. Can you help cover the services of a translator and put a book into the hands of a needy believer? Cost: $1,380 for the translation of one book
 

Taking the Seminar Home

Each month the Centre of Hope offers seminars and training programs on specific topics such as: raising children, inner healing, domestic abuse, etc. The materials provided to the participants help supplement what is being taught in sessions. Growing Leaders Through Training

Once a month Centre of Hope personnel translate small pamphlets or chapters from books that help them in team building and personal growth. Your contribution to leadership development will make a big difference. (Submitted by: Peter and Cheryl Hambrey)
