Biographical Information: Though she was born in Switzerland, Susie’s parents immigrated to Quebec while she was still a child. Her father began to church plant in Montreal. She saw the realities of a committed Christian life in them as they gave everything for the Lord. Susie realized early that her parents’ joy was an overflow of their relationship with Christ and at the age of seven, at her mother’s knee, she accepted Christ as her Saviour. At the age of 12, she consecrated her life to God at “Camp des Bouleaux” and was baptized by her father the following year. Witnessing became her passion and often resulted in the salvation of others. The leaning toward missions was also present in Susie from early childhood. She maintained contact with many missionaries throughout the years and served on the mission’s committee for many years at her local church. When Mr. Joel Chiron came to the church to present his missionary work in Bulgaria, the Holy Spirit touched her heart. Susie became burdened for the salvation of the Bulgarian people, finding myself crying at the kitchen table at 2:00 a.m. imploring God to save precious Bulgarians even while knowing that a great number of entire villages had never had the privilege of hearing the Good News of Jesus Christ. She knew full well that what was going on in her heart at that moment was the working of the Holy Spirit. Beginning in September 2006, Susie had the privilege of serving in Bulgaria for a period of three months. Since 2008, Susie has worked with International Ministries as a career missionary in Bulgaria. At present she is engaged in language studies but finds time for her first love, witnessing. Because Bulgaria is one of the poorest of the European countries Susie and her partners in ministry have also found ways to minister to the physical needs of the people as a stepping stone to sharing the Gospel with them. |
