Student Ministries Internship (1-Year Term)

Whitehorse Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Student Ministries Intern with an 80% Youth Ministry focus and 20% focus on College & Career, to aid in the fulfillment of Vision2020: "To be an authentic, vibrant, church, serving and reaching our city." This is a 1-year internship contract, with an annual salary of $32,000.

Youth Ministry Focus (80% Time Commitment):
Plan, direct and facilitate all Youth Ministries, including but not limited to outreach, service, discipleship and Biblical training. Event and activity scheduling will be at the Intern's discretion, under the direct report of the Lead Pastor and in cooperation with other Ministry Leaders.

College & Career Focus (20% Time Commitment):
Plan and facilitate the spiritual direction of our College & Career Ministry, which may include a Community Group, Bible Study and/or Prayer Meeting. Outreach, Social and Fellowship events or activities will not be under the Intern's direction or responsibility.

Other Responsibilities (Occasional Commitments):
In the Lead Pastor's absence, the Intern may be given opportunity to lead meetings, facilitate groups, teach a class and/or preach to the greater congregation.

* The Student Ministries Intern will not be required to lead or facilitate any Camp related ministries.

Education (Biblical Studies - 2-4 Years):
The Student Ministries Intern should possess a minimum 2-year Diploma in Biblical Studies (or ministry-related equivalent). Preference will be given to those applicants who have completed a Biblical Studies Degree (or ministry-related equivalent).

The successful candidate will develop the newborns to Grade 5’s ministry in partnership with the Lead Pastor, and the present cadre of dedicated volunteers. Specific broad objectives of the ministry are as follows;
1. Cast vision for the program.

Description

The Chaplain/Director plans, organizes and directs all activities of the Elgin Street Mission including meeting specific goals and carrying out the Mission/vision statement outlined by the board of directors. The Chaplain/ Director serves to manage and support the secretary, book keeper, treasurer, kitchen staff, and the board of directors in the business functions of the Mission. They will also oversee a staff team of two full-time, four part-time staff as well as a large group of volunteers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee preparation and implementation of programs,
  • Provide supervision of budget, administration and maintaining of the office,
  • Provide spiritual and practical ministry which would include overseeing chapel services and Bible studies as well as providing counselling and/or appropriate referrals,
  • In consultation with the Board, manage the recruitment, interviewing, training, supervision and evaluating of staff and volunteers,
  • Establish and maintain job descriptions for staff and volunteers and assign required tasks,
  • Management of disciplinary situations that may arise with staff, volunteers or patrons,
  • Communicate problems, ideas, incidents or positive occurrences to the Board and staff by meeting regularly,
  • Communicate up to date and necessary information to staff and volunteers (i.e. program changes, Emergency and Health Safety Protocals),
  • Track administrative functions such as accounts, statistics, filed reports and ordering of supplies,
  • Be involved in Mission fund-raising initiatives,
  • Sit on committees that involve the ministry of the Mission,
  • Network with community partners that would include churches, businesses, local government, community agencies and individuals.

Harbour Fellowship, a church family of approximately 350 people located in St. Catharines, ON, is seeking a part-time Worship Arts Leader. The vision of our church is to Look Up, Live Deep and Lead Out as we accomplish our mission of walking with people from disenchantment to discipleship.

The part-time Worship Arts leader, reporting to the Lead Pastor, will team with the staff and others to accomplish our Look Up Vision. This entails crafting fluid and thematic contemporary worship services that point people to Jesus, grounded in the week’s teaching text and with strong worship elements.

We are looking for someone who is a leader and worshipper. Someone who is teachable, self-motivated and well organized to build and guide a diverse team of volunteer musicians, singers and sound/media/lighting technicians.

SPIRITUAL PROFILE & QUALIFICATIONS
• Demonstrate a Christian lifestyle that reflects the qualifications found in
1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
• Demonstrate an authentic and growing faith as demonstrated by strong character and a desire to serve Jesus wholeheartedly

• Demonstrate the spiritual gifts of Leadership and Worship
