The successful candidate will develop the newborns to Grade 5’s ministry in partnership with the Lead Pastor, and the present cadre of dedicated volunteers. Specific broad objectives of the ministry are as follows;
1. Cast vision for the program.

5. Work alongside of coordinators in equipping and planning.

9. Develop strong Volunteer Team (value, connect, include, challenge)
10. Assist with Summer Camp.
11. Meet bi-weekly with Lead Pastor.

Chaplain/Director

Description

The Chaplain/Director plans, organizes and directs all activities of the Elgin Street Mission including meeting specific goals and carrying out the Mission/vision statement outlined by the board of directors. The Chaplain/ Director serves to manage and support the secretary, book keeper, treasurer, kitchen staff, and the board of directors in the business functions of the Mission. They will also oversee a staff team of two full-time, four part-time staff as well as a large group of volunteers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee preparation and implementation of programs,
  • Provide supervision of budget, administration and maintaining of the office,
  • Provide spiritual and practical ministry which would include overseeing chapel services and Bible studies as well as providing counselling and/or appropriate referrals,
  • In consultation with the Board, manage the recruitment, interviewing, training, supervision and evaluating of staff and volunteers,
  • Establish and maintain job descriptions for staff and volunteers and assign required tasks,
  • Management of disciplinary situations that may arise with staff, volunteers or patrons,
  • Communicate problems, ideas, incidents or positive occurrences to the Board and staff by meeting regularly,
  • Communicate up to date and necessary information to staff and volunteers (i.e. program changes, Emergency and Health Safety Protocals),
  • Track administrative functions such as accounts, statistics, filed reports and ordering of supplies,
  • Be involved in Mission fund-raising initiatives,
  • Sit on committees that involve the ministry of the Mission,
  • Network with community partners that would include churches, businesses, local government, community agencies and individuals.

Director of Music & Media (DMM)

Description

Central Baptist Church, Victoria is seeking a full time Director of Music and Media (DMM).  Central is a medium to large size church (750 people, with over 500 on Sunday morning) located in downtown Victoria.  We are a multi-generational congregation on a growth trend with a large facility and a passion to engage many people to know Jesus.  Our vision is to be a church that is “renewing our community through the gospel.”  We desire a DMM who shares our deep love of the gospel and can express this through the mediums of music and media.  We are excited about our new vision and believe the DMM role is critical to seeing it become a reality.

The DMM will be responsible to lead the church in music (60% of role) and to build teams that develop the media/visual arts of the church in areas such as video production, graphic design, Sunday PowerPoint, website, stage design, and social media (40% of role).  Musically, the DMM must be a person who values, and is skilled in, both traditional and contemporary music while emphasizing the latter (think Passion, Vertical Church, Keith and Kristyn Getty, and Sovereign Grace Music).  Artistically, the DMM needs to be a person who possesses high aesthetic gifts so as to ensure high quality in the church’s media/visual arts.

The ideal DMM candidate:
•    Has deep personal love for God and the gospel;
•    Lives an active life of worship characterized by holiness and love for others;
•    Models a godly marriage and family life (if applicable);
•    Senses God’s call to lead a local church in musical worship;
•    Has a significant music background/training/education in musical training;
•    Possesses high aesthetic gifts;
•    Has a solid grasp of biblical doctrine that guides musical selection;
•    Exhibits high relational skills in all areas, particularly in dealing with conflict;
•    Is a team player who will collaborate well with our staff team;
•    Can develop teams and individuals;
•    Has high technological skills (digital sound system, lighting, competent computer skills in Pro Presenter, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Premiere or Final Cut);
•    Displays a teachable and humble spirit that is committed to ongoing personal and professional growth;
•    Models loyalty to the people and vision of Central Baptist;
•    Has leadership experience within a medium to large size church.

Harbour Fellowship, a church family of approximately 350 people located in St. Catharines, ON, is seeking a part-time Worship Arts Leader. The vision of our church is to Look Up, Live Deep and Lead Out as we accomplish our mission of walking with people from disenchantment to discipleship.

The part-time Worship Arts leader, reporting to the Lead Pastor, will team with the staff and others to accomplish our Look Up Vision. This entails crafting fluid and thematic contemporary worship services that point people to Jesus, grounded in the week’s teaching text and with strong worship elements.

We are looking for someone who is a leader and worshipper. Someone who is teachable, self-motivated and well organized to build and guide a diverse team of volunteer musicians, singers and sound/media/lighting technicians.
