Performance

Members may choose from a number of investment options provided by Sun Life. When a member enrolls for plan participation, a pension package will be sent to him or her with tools to assist the member in choosing the investment that best matches their needs.

The fundamental objective is to obtain the maximum total return from dividends, interest, or capital appreciation, that is consistent with the moderate level of risk characteristic of a balanced fund containing both equity and fixed-income securities. When choosing market-based funds the value of the funds is not guaranteed in any way but will fluctuate with the market value of the assets of the fund.

Members are responsible for making investment decisions regarding their plans. Members may change their investment options at any time through the Sun Life website. The system is fully automated and provides prompts for each step. The semi-annual statement sent to members lists current rates of return on all funds offered.
