Home Church: Northwest Langley Baptist Church
Allison was born and raised in Langley, BC. She accepted Christ into her life as a young child, and has grown up attending Northwest Langley Baptist Church.
Since her early teen years, she felt confident of God's call for her into missions. After high school, Allison went to Trinity Western University and graduated in International Studies in 2013. During her summers she had the opportunity to travel and volunteer in several countries, and sensed further confirmation that God was directing her into missions. While in university, she became very involved in the social justice club, which provided an opportunity for her to learn more about and raise awareness related to issues of world injustice. Through these experiences her heart was strongly burdened by the exploitation of humans around the world.
Following graduation, with a keen desire to explore where the Lord might be directing her, Allison worked with Precious Women Ministries in Cambodia for a year (2014 – 2015). Working specifically with women involved in the sex/entertainment industry, Precious Women ministries works locally to empower women to improve their lives and work in an environment free from sexual exploitation.
Precious Women has outreach programs within the most prominent areas of where exploitation occurs. The staff initiate relationships with the women, telling them about the opportunities available to them through their ministry. They offer offers services such as safe temporary housing, empowerment training, vocational training and counseling. Through building relationships, staff seeks to see the lives of these women transformed by the Gospel. It is a community demonstrating God's love to the women so that they can discover their worth and receive skills/training necessary to enable them to have a future free from exploitation.
Allison was a welcomed addition to the Precious Women ministry and is thrilled to be able to return for another year through Fellowship International (2016-2017).
