STM Connexion Coordinator (short term mission program)
Chris was born and raised in a Christian home and came to faith in Christ at an early age. Following high school, Chris attended Heritage Baptist College where he trained to become a youth pastor. While at the college he participated in a musical ministry group called Echelon. As a group they toured throughout Canada and the United States sharing Christ through music and testimony.
In 1998, after much prayer, Echelon headed out for a six week outreach tour of the Middle East. This initial tour paved the way to four additional three-week tours throughout the Middle East and a part of Central Asia.
Chris began seeking the Lord’s leading for his life in light of his time abroad and the possibilities that were available. Chris writes, “Through prayer and deliberation I thought it prudent to take a year to really discover the Middle East and the work going on there. I worked as an English teacher to support myself while committing the remainder of my time to a creative arts outreach ministry. I attended the weekly Bible study and prayer meetings and helped where I could as it pertained to music tours. It was through this time in the Middle East that I really felt and saw the need for workers in that area to help share the Gospel and disciple new believers. With my past experience in music and ministry and the time I had already spent over there and after much prayer, I really felt that I had been prepared to move into a position with the creative arts outreach ministry and be part of their work of reaching the lost.”
Chris joined the home base team in July 2009 where he served as coordinator of STM Connexion, the short term program of Fellowship International.
