Wayne and Hilary Denny are currently preparing to serve overseas in theological education in Senegal.

Hilary grew up in Edmonton, AB, where her dad served as a pastor. The person and work of Jesus Christ was a cherished topic which she heard throughout her childhood. This exposure to the gospel led Hilary to acknowledge her need for the Savior. She also experienced cross-cultural work while serving on short-term trips in high school and Bible college. As early as high school, she had already begun to seriously consider missions as a career.

Wayne’s childhood in North Carolina involved a steady diet of sweet tea, Andy Griffith, and church. His parents were involved in a church plant where he observed his parents’ devotion to serving the Lord. Their passion in serving and presenting Christ encouraged him to recognize his need for the Savior. However, it was not until he observed the growth of a recently converted friend in college that he began wholeheartedly serving. After graduation from North Carolina State, Wayne attended Dallas Theological Seminary. Through both classes at the seminary and reading John Piper’s books, Wayne became burdened for missions.

God began to bring Wayne and Hilary’s lives together on a missions trip in France. From the beginning of their relationship, they have been discussing where God would lead them overseas. They both have a passion for learning and teaching the Word of God. They have served in youth and college ministries and Wayne has had several teaching and preaching opportunities in church, camp and Bible college settings. The common passion for teaching is leading them to focus on how God can use them to equip church leaders in Senegal.
